The Inexhaustible Smartphone Market

Here is some 2021 year end data based on several surveys.

Admittedly one person could be using multiple devices, but with the world’s population at 7.9 billion, this data shows a number that represents a value of subscribers 5% more than the population.

Smart device Increases

Annual smartphone shipments in 2024 is expected to be 2.4 billion, of which 1 billion will have 5G mobile connection. We believe the ability to communicate anytime, anywhere in the world with anyone is coming and will be creating an “Always On” social infrastructure based on smartphones.

All these elements, linked together, have the power to transform business. It is remarkable that mobile technologies play an important role in most of the items on the list.

Even though difficult to achieve, mobile technology implementation is a key to many businesses growth.

MIT’s Direction

MIT is committed to mobile “Strategic Technology Trends” and therefore focuses on Research and Development to provide the optimal “always On” mobile business environment.

Cross-Platform

As discussed, the trend in organizations is for more employees to bring their own devices (BYOD) for business use and for companies to provide their own as well.

Cross Platform Implementation is increasingly essential in this environment.

Through MIT’s focuses on cross platform technology we develop the best technological approaches to address BYOD issues to implement required customization and deliver the best solution.

Cloud Collaboration

With the increase use of Smart devices comes also the increased usage of Cloud data storage services for businesses and individuals. Even though there are a variety of devices and applications, users are increasingly using the cloud for their data and that is why the cloud is becoming an indispensable technology for mobile business.

While studying the use of cloud computing as a back end to mobile client applications, MIT is leveraging our cloud collaboration application development environment and tools for internal use as well.

IoT (The Internet of Things) and Behavioral Analysis

An BI Intelligence report says more than 29.5 Billion devices are expected to be connected to the Internet by 2020.

This number of devices, well over double the world’s population, suggests the coming of behavioral analysis of Machine to Machine (M2M) technology in which various internet connected sensors automatically communicate with each other and where users through various devices try to understand their current status. MIT pays close attention to this trend and constantly studies sensor implementing technologies and applications as well as the commercialization of networks.

Map Information

Smart devices map and coordinate data you can obtain anytime, anywhere, and are no longer just used when in unfamiliar places. New services combine location data and points of interest.

MIT especially focuses on services utilizing map information which, when combined with our entertainment knowhow, can be applied to such uses as attracting customers to events, promotional activities, local area revitalization, sightseeing, assisting infrastructure and so on.

Social Network Connectivity

Although not included in the IDC ‘Strategic Technology Trends’ report, connecting through social networks is becoming an essential component of mobile services.

Connecting games with social networks is already an important trend. As businesses continue to use social networking as an in-house information sharing tool as well as for customer services, its appropriate implementation in the specific environment needs to be carefully considered.

As MIT works to connect popular social networks with mobile applications we are also studying the use of private closed SNS (social networking systems).
